Re using the blog for 2 units, Mitchell has pointed out:
"It world work for content, provided some tagging as you say... but it wouldn't work for the template creation part, because networked media also assesses how you tweak / customise the blog, including template."
Multi-blogging seems like the solution...

Hey Marijke, if you are talking about using the same blog for Networked Media Productions, I spoke to Mitchell after the lecture yesterday and he suggested it would be better to create a separate blog! Sigh :) hahaha

Hmmm not impossible but could be risky. The same material cannot be assessed twice but there is sense in your suggestion. If you use a blog that allows you to tag posts you could segregate the content for your different subjects. Happy to discuss further in next week's tute.

Hi Geoff,

Do you think it would it cause too many complications to simultaneously use this Blog for another subject this semester... ??

Definitely. Hosting is a subject we'll be covering later but if you have hosting already then feel free to use it. Happy to help if necessary.

Hi,

I have a question concerning blogs: can we use blogs hosted by our own server?

Cheers

Good question re: personal/professional mix.
Some personal anecdotes can be good - it's really a case of how many and how personal.
If the personal stuff starts to overwhelm everything else you've got a problem, but otherwise make it your own.

Hey, I was at work! Thought I might as well do something useful :)

By the way - can we use these blogs as our everyday personal blogs as well, or are they to be used only as "Diaries" for the unit?
